At our home in Bournemouth we have an opportunity for an exceptional Chef to join us on a full time basis, to lead and inspire the team of experienced kitchen staff.
On a day to day basis you’ll promote high quality of life for our residents by providing a consistently excellent mealtime experience and creating diverse and exciting dishes. You’ll strive to meet each resident's personal needs, choices and preferences through the development of varied menu plans and a balanced, nourishing, appetising and attractive diet. You’ll liaise with the Care Team to ensure meals meet residents medical requirements, ensuring that such meals are prepared using the appropriate methods and in the correct environment. Additionally you’ll lead a small team of kitchen staff to achieve consistently high standards, providing effective staff supervisions and appraisals, treating each occasion as a valuable communication opportunity and identify staff training needs. You’ll lead your team dynamically and effectively manage communications out of the kitchen to the residents and staff alike.
To be successful in this role you’ll:
- Have a Level 2 or above in Food Hygiene
- Be a good leader and hands on in the running of the kitchen
- The ability to communicate and involve both residents and colleagues in kitchen activities
- A good respect for diversity and individuality
- A genuine interest in and/or experience of working with the elderly
- The ability to communicate effectively at all levels with colleagues, residents and suppliers alike
- Have a passion for your job and be an approachable leader
- Fully IT literate

This is a full time opportunity and weekend working is required. Shift times are 07.30 – 17.30 over 5 days a week including regular weekends. If you are successful in your application you will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
