At our home in Kings Norton we are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join us on a bank basis.
Reporting to the Head Cook you’ll help prepare and serve tasty, nutritious meals that our residents will enjoy. At main mealtimes, you’ll add those much-loved finishing touches and throughout the day you’ll ensure all kitchen equipment and areas are properly cleaned and maintained and all food is stored in a safe and hygienic way.
To be successful in this role you’ll have the following:
A hard-working individual, ideally with experience of working in a busy kitchen. Some experience in a care home setting is preferable.
A motivated self-starter, comfortable taking responsibility for your area of work.
A flexible and adaptable approach that puts clients’ needs and preferences first.
A good understanding of the importance of nutrition and mealtimes to older, vulnerable people.
An excellent team player who takes pride in your job and is happy to go the extra mile.
An understanding of food hygiene and health and safety rules.
