We are currently seeking a motivated and passionate Head Chef to join our leadership team at Olivet, delivering nutritious, delicious meals and creating exceptional dining experiences for our residents and their families.
As our Head Chef, you will:
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, nutritious, and flavorful meals.
- Design and maintain exciting, sustainable, and well-balanced menus tailored to residents’ dietary preferences and needs.
- Build relationships with residents and families, understanding their unique tastes and creating meals that feel personal and comforting.
- Lead by example in the kitchen, ensuring adherence to recipes, quality standards, and efficient service.
- Inspire and motivate your kitchen team, fostering a culture of pride, commitment, and teamwork.
- Ensure accurate and secure record-keeping for dietary requirements, allergies, and food safety information.
- Uphold health and safety, food hygiene, COSHH, and other regulatory standards at all times.
- Conduct regular audits and implement recommendations promptly to maintain excellence.
- Manage budgets effectively, overseeing food purchasing, stock control, and cost efficiency.
- Stay informed on industry trends, introducing innovative ideas to enhance residents’ dining experiences.
As the ideal candidate, you will be a professional and passionate chef with a proven track record of maintaining high standards. Key qualities and qualifications include:
- Experience: Previous experience in care homes, hospitality venues, or restaurants.
- Food Safety: Level 3 Food Safety qualification required, Level 5 desirable.
- Skillset: Ability to create and cost menus accurately, manage stock, and forecast demand effectively.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, with an approachable, detail-oriented demeanor.
- Leadership: Experience in managing and developing a team to exceed expectations.

This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week, with competitive remuneration. Due to the nature of this role, an enhanced DBS check will be required.
