Bethesda is known for its informal, passionate and excellent care, with the resident at the heart of the homes’ purpose. Bethesda has been actively involved in developing 'intergenerational' activities and was a contributor to the local 'residents charter'. The house itself is a converted Victorian gentleman's residence just a short walk away from the beautiful seafront and promenade of Torquay.
The lounge, is the 'hub' of spiritual and social life in the home andwith its marble fireplace and 8 foot gilded mirror, still hints at the property’s former grandeur. The 12 foot bay window affords stunning views over the garden and the town beyond. Each resident room is unique, many have high ceilings, sash windows and original ceiling roses and some of those at the front have views across the bay to Berry Head. Each room has an en-suite and a small kitchenette to promote independence. The garden is a real feature of the home, with plants to stimulate every sense making it a place for relaxation and occupation. On the patio there are raised planting beds, tables and seating. Adjacent to the beautiful lawn, often seen hosting a game of croquet, is a summer house and pond. Further areas of the garden provide an allotment, green houses and a wall fruit orchard.
Life at Bethesda is full of colour, laughter and opportunity.
