We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our dedicated team at Eden House. The successful candidate will support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals that cater to the diverse dietary needs and preferences of our residents, ensuring that our food service reflects the values and ethos of Christadelphian Care Homes.​

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing balanced, nutritious meals that adhere to dietary requirements and individual preferences.​

- Ensure all meals are prepared and presented to the highest standards, maintaining consistency and quality.​

- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to maintain a cohesive and efficient team.​

- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.​

- Manage inventory, including ordering and stock control, to minimize waste and ensure cost-effectiveness.​

- Collaborate with care staff to accommodate the specific dietary needs of residents, including those with medical conditions or allergies.​

- Contribute to menu development, incorporating resident feedback and seasonal variations.​


Qualifications and Experience:

- Proven experience in a similar role within a care home, hospital, or similar environment is preferred.​

- Relevant culinary qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery).​

- Strong understanding of dietary requirements and nutrition, particularly in a care setting.​

- Excellent leadership and communication skills.​

- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage time efficiently.​

- Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.​
